The fine print, in plain air.
Last updated · July 2026 · plain-English edition
SkyWrite is a drone-powered aerial skywriting service produced by NIRO Corp (Atlanta, GA). Submitting a request through smokemsg.com does not reserve a flight; a flight is only approved in writing after availability, airspace, weather, crew, and equipment review. Payment is accepted only through a personalized Stripe Checkout link or invoice issued after that review. These terms are written in plain English on purpose.
1 · The show depends on the sky
- Weather rules everything. Wind, rain, and visibility can ground a show with little notice. If weather scrubs your slot, we reschedule — see the refund policy for how money is handled.
- Airspace is regulated. All flights are subject to FAA airspace authorization. Some locations (near airports, stadium TFRs, restricted zones) may require waivers, extra lead time, or may not be flyable at all. We'll tell you as soon as we know.
2 · Where and when we fly
- SkyWrite 6.5.2 accepts U.S. event-location requests only. International service is not offered in this release. A request is never charged through the form and remains subject to crew, equipment, airspace, weather, and operator review.
- Availability is assessed for the event location in your request, not your home or billing address. An optional current-location point is only a starting detail when you are already at the event site; it does not confirm service, airspace, or a flight.
- Bookings need at least 7 days of lead time, and we're booking shows from July 4, 2026 onward.
3 · Requests, approval, and payment
- The public website and mobile request form do not collect payment. A request does not reserve a date, create a booking, or guarantee availability.
- If operations approves a request, NIRO sends a written booking confirmation with the package, service date, price, payment schedule, cancellation deadlines, refund amounts, and any show-specific conditions.
- Only then may NIRO issue a personalized, time-limited Stripe Checkout link tied to that booking reference and terms version. There are no valid public instant-pay links.
- A Checkout link that expires cannot be reactivated automatically. NIRO must reconfirm availability and issue a new quote revision.
- Payment secures the approved reservation under its written terms. It never overrides a weather, airspace, legal, equipment, or safety decision.
- Card details are entered only on Stripe's hosted Checkout. Do not email card information to NIRO.
4 · Cancellation, rescheduling, and refunds
- If NIRO cannot perform the approved service because required airspace authorization cannot be obtained, equipment or crew is unavailable, or NIRO otherwise cancels, you may accept a mutually agreeable reschedule or receive a full refund for the unperformed service.
- If unsafe weather prevents the show, NIRO first offers a no-service-fee reschedule. If no mutually agreeable date is found within 90 days, the unperformed service is refunded.
- If you cancel, the deadlines and refundable amounts in your written booking confirmation apply. If that schedule is missing, do not pay and ask NIRO to correct the confirmation.
- Eligible refunds return to the original payment method. NIRO initiates an approved refund within five business days; the card issuer or bank controls when it appears.
- SkyWrite Pro is recurring only when the written confirmation and Stripe Checkout both say it is recurring. Cancellation stops future renewals; any current-period refund and already approved production work follow the written confirmation and applicable law.
See the complete refund and rescheduling policy before paying.
5 · Your message
- Character limits per package are shown at booking. Sky messages are, by nature, visible to everyone below.
- We may decline any message that is unlawful, hateful, or that we're not comfortable putting a city block's worth of sky behind. If we decline before a flight is approved, no payment is due.
6 · Photos of the show
If our crew films or photographs your show, we may ask to feature it in our portfolio. We'll ask first — private moments stay private if you say so.
7 · The honest legal bit
These terms are a plain-language working agreement, not exhaustive legal boilerplate. The written booking confirmation identifies the show-specific scope and cancellation schedule, but it cannot reduce rights that applicable law gives you. Questions, special requirements, or anything unclear — email jesse@niroaerial.com before paying and we'll put it in writing.
